St. Mary’s Academy

Thank you for your interest in St. Mary's Academy.

From PreK-3 through grade 8, we encourage students to learn important values and a meaningful curriculum in a peaceful environment surrounded by dedicated educators. Accredited by AdvancEd, St. Mary’s Academy provides a well-rounded education shaped by faith and high academic standards.

All of St. Mary’s Academy students receive a New York State Standards based curriculum through a variety of learning and teaching styles, including cooperative learning, differentiated instruction, small group instruction, projects, hands-on activities and large group instruction. While gaining an education steeped in Catholic Faith and traditions, students are also introduced to other faiths and religions.  Students begin and end their day with prayer and our Fruits of the Spirit are infused into all aspects of school life.  Students and parents feel a sense family walking through the doors of SMA.

Our team sports include soccer, basketball, and softball for grades 5-8 and we also participate in Odyssey of the Mind in grades 6-8.  For our younger students, we offer science club, good deed club, and newspaper club.  Students also participate in a variety of social justice and volunteer opportunities throughout the school year.  These projects help communities both locally and globally.  We greatly encourage parental involvement and an open line of communication between school and home. Parents are welcome to volunteer in various aspects of the school day and our commitment to our community has been our driving force, as we celebrate 125 years of academic excellence.

Students in grade 8 can take together Regents level Algebra and Regents level Earth science.  All students in grade 8 take the Spanish Competency and Proficiency Regents exams.  Spanish is offered to all Pre-Kindergarten through grade 8 students.

St. Mary’s Academy offers a hot lunch program daily. Free and reduced lunch applications are also available. Bus transportation is available for students by request.
